During the initial talks with customers, but also occasionally from candidates, the question about where the company is located comes up quite regularly. Hence, it might be worthwhile to take a closer look at this.

The important parts of a consultancy’s work are solid knowledge of the customer’s field of industry, the job description and necessary skill sets. These aspects are universal with little variation locally. A good consultant from Hamburg will be able to fulfil the requirements just as well as one from Munich or even abroad.

Locality does come into play some more if you go a step further and also want the consultant to have a basic understanding of the company or branch in question. However, even that is not strictly to a consultancy nearby.

Our consultants regularly travel all over Germany and even internationally to visit customers and gain an understanding for the companies at their various locations, their specific company habits and requirements. Job interviews are often done that way as well, although more and more those get conducted via telephone.

At the end of the day, it can be said that job openings in Hamburg can be filled just as well by an agency situated in Munich and vice versa, especially if changing jobs means relocating to a different town for the candidates anyway.
